ADK Summits Trip

We will do two day hikes. The first one, on Saturday, will include Mount Algonquin (5,114'), the second-highest mountain in NY. There will be options to do Wright (4,580') and Iroquois (4,840') as well, and a potential return hike through Avalanche Pass. Distance and elevation to Algonquin is 8.6 miles RT and ~3,000' elevation gain. With the options, it grows to over 4,000' elevation gain and about 15 miles distance.

The second day hike will be to Mount Marcy, the highest mountain in NY at 5,344'. This is almost 14 miles RT, with a bit over 3,000' of elevation gain. Tacking on Haystack, Phelps, and Tabletop could add another 61/2 miles and 3000' to that adventure. For the real hiking enthusiast (or criminally insane), there may be an option to complete The Great Range Trail (about 20 miles, 9,000' elevation gain, and about a dozen peaks). Those less inclined to long distances could opt out of Marcy and visit Phelps or Tabletop instead, making for a much easier day.

The cost includes lodging at two shelters near Heart Lake for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. All registrations will include the cost of overnighting, even if you only plan on participating for 1-2 days. We may consider group meals, which would be an additional cost.
